Check out the Belmont Website Daily Announcements and the Career Centre Information for the many volunteer opportunities available to students.  Volunteer hours can be used for the required grad transitions hours.
  • Grads: Reminder that Yearbook Grad Write ups are now due, these can be emailed to belmontyearbook2016@gmail.com or handed into the main office
  • Please get yours in as soon as possible.
  • Gradwear is in and can be picked up in Room B207 at lunch and after school.
  • TOMORROW is the last day of Spirit Week, your Belmont Leadership Class has organized a Spirit Week to help kick start the Second Semester!
Friday February 10 – PJ & Sweats Friday. Show your school spirit and join in on the fun!
  • Belmont Cultural Night   Food, music, dance and drums
  •    Food $1 per item (all countries represented)
  •    Wednesday Feb 22 from 5- 7pm
  • Teachers, please send your yellow BCFVNP bin back to B112 so that they may be relabeled for this coming semester. If you would like to receive produce in B Block , but have not yet signed up, you still can. Send Leanne your name and room number and she will add you to the delivery list.
  •  The Belmont GSA would like to host another hot chocolate sale TODAY Thursday February 9th
  • BC Quebec Exchange – there is a meeting TODAY Thursday, February 9, 2017 for all French students interested in an exchange to Quebec next year. Come to Ms. Evans room during lunch hour for the necessary information.
  • Feb 22 – there is a cultural night at Belmont for all students, staff, family and community members. Please put Feb 22 from 5pm to 7pm in your phone and do not miss it!! Culture in the form of music, art, food and dance. Some free and inexpensive food.
Looking for students to be Belmont Sexual Health Ambassadors:
Youth approach youth first about sexual health concerns. From the 2013 McCreary Centre report we know that 73% of youth went to a friend first when they needed help.   Sexual Health Ambassadors (SHAs) are a peer based resource team to enhance the student body’s health literacy.  This training will equip youth with the information and communication skills required to better support their peers.

 Potential Tasks of SHA

  • Teach/share leadership of workshops – To peers, parents, and teachers
  • Host/Tabling events.
  • Create written material.
  • Presence at Wellness Centre offering one-on-one support.
  • SHA Staffed ‘Question Desk’: offer weekly or monthly themes (ie. gender identity, STI 101, birth control options) up for discussion at Wellness Centres.
Training sessions: (must be able to attend all dates)
  • Feb 23: Intro Session 430-730 at Belmont
  • Feb 24: Full Day 10-4 at EMCS
  • Mar 4: Full Day 10-4 at Royal Bay

  • Volunteers represent and act up as a victim of disaster, competitors of an emergency team will practice their skills during the day.Volunteers need to be wearing clothes that will get make up on it and/or will be ripped up. Wear older clothes that you don’t care much about would be the best.For more information and to Sign up, see Mrs. Hyde in the Career Centre

  • Need 8 volunteers to act as victims of a disaster for The First Aid Competition.
