Check out the Belmont Website Daily Announcements and the Career Centre Information for the many volunteer opportunities available to students.  Volunteer hours can be used for the required grad transitions hours.

  • Grade 12 French Immersion Students – SFU is coming to present in French on the opportunities for secondary education on October 30 during A and B block. If you are interested, please see Mr. McIndoe with a permission slip on the day of.
  • Wednesdays: Slam Poetry Club meets in A205 at lunch. Bring some spoken word lines to share.
  • Thursdays: GSA in A205 at lunch.

  • Event Entertainment will meet today (Tuesday) at lunch in Mr. Grainger’s room. See you there!
  • Students enrolled in Accounting 110 and Marketing 110 next semester – please come to Mr. Grainger’s room B222 on Thursday at lunch for an important meeting. See you there!
  • The Senior Girls Varsity Volleyball Team had another wonderfully successful weekend, this time coming out on top at the 48 team Camosun College Invitational Tournament. It marks the second consecutive year that Belmont has completed the “Triple Crown”, which is winning the UBC, VIU and Camosun Tournaments. Gracie May and Taylee Pomponio were all-stars while Savannah Purdy was named MVP. The Varsity remain the #1 ranked team in B.C.  The Junior Varsity also had great success this week, winning all four of their League matches and sitting in a tie for first place in Pool B. This Tuesday evening the Varsity are hosting League play – come out and cheer them on!
    • Belmont UFC (Ultimate Frisbee Club) Co-ed, everyone welcome! Every (non-rainy) Tuesday after school. Bring your cleats and join us at 3:45-4:45 on the back field. Learn the basics, meet new people, and have some fun! Teacher sponsors: Mr. Wilson, Mr. Stee and Dayna.
    • All girls basketball players please sign up in the gym with Mr. Walushka. Tryouts will begin next week and will be posted on the Athletics board and on the announcements.
  • The junior girls volleyball team placed 4th out of 12 this past weekend in Nanaimo.  That’s 4 spots better than the last tournament they were in.  The team is also 10 and 0 in league play and continue to get better with each passing week.  Well done girls.
  • Career Centre
  • On Wednesday, November 1, 2017 is the official “Take Our Kids to Work” day. All Grade 9 students can spend the day with a parent, relative, neighbour or community member to experience the world of work.  Parent consent forms must be returned by Thursday, October 19th to the Career Centre.  The Career Centre can also help find a placement for you if you have a specific place in mind.   Extra copies of the consent forms can be picked up in the Career Centre.
