Check out the Belmont Website Daily Announcements and the Career Centre Information for the many volunteer opportunities available to students.  Volunteer hours can be used for the required grad transitions hours.
  • ******GRADS: An email was sent home with information regarding Grad ceremonies and forms that need to be filled out and returned to the front office. Please bring these completed forms to the office with payment as soon as possible.
  • GRADS: Baby/Toddler photos are now being accepted in the office. For the slide show at the graduation ceremonies, bring them in soon.
  • GRADS   Today at lunch Grad Gowns will be on display at the Lakeside Café across from the Learning Commons. Please pop by and verify the size you will need to order.
  • Scholarships and Bursaries:
  • We are now entering the peak time for scholarship applications. For any deadlines that occur over spring break, March 18 to April 2, remember you will need to obtain any application forms, transcripts, or reference letters you need from the school by March 17. Please give teachers at least a full week if you are requesting reference letters and allow Mrs. Gunn in the counselling suite at least two days for transcript requests.
  • Applications are now available on the website or in the counselling suite for the District Authority Awards of $1250 for accomplishments in one of seven specialty areas: Applied Skills (Business Ed, Technology Ed, Home Economics)International LanguagesCommunity Service (Volunteer Activity)
  • Technical & Trades Training (Carpentry, Automotive, Mechanics, Cook Training)
  • Indigenous Languages & Culture
  • Physical Activity (not limited to Physical Education)

  • Summer Secondary School Apprenticeship Jobs at Dockyard For more information, the application package and job descriptions see the Career Centre.  Application deadline is Monday, April 3, 2017.
  • Dockyard (Fleet Maintenance Facility, Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt) in Victoria is offering summer positions for Secondary School Apprenticeships again this year. The jobs offered are in the following trades: various metal trades, various hull trades, electricians, machinists, millwrights and pipefitters.
  • Coast Capital Savings Youth Intern Program is currently accepting applications for the Youth Get It Intern program.  Students must be entering Grade 11 or Grade 12 in September 2017 and be able to work full-time during the summer months, and every Saturday during the school year. The successful applicants will work in a branch as a Member Service Representative, representing Coast Capital Savings at community events and initiate a volunteer project focusing on teaching financial literacy for youth.  Students who are interested in this opportunity are to apply on line at coastcapitalsavings.com/youthinterns.  The application deadline is Friday, March 31, 2017 at 4:00pm.   Please contact the Career Centre for more information.
