Congratulations to Grade 10 student, Tia Arsenault, for being selected for the Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada at the State University of New York in Pittsburgh!  She will be spending three weeks on an exchange, touring Ottawa, New York State and Washington DC this summer.  Congratulations!

  • Food Safe Level 1 is being offer on Wednesday June 22nd for $55.00. If you are interested in taking this class please sign up and pay in the office. Space is limited to 19 students.
  • “Good Morning Belmont!   The Music Department would like to invite you all to our Year-End Concert, this Thursday evening June 9th, at 7pm.  We’re going to start in our lovely Learning Commons, then we will make our way down to the Theatre.  Admission is by donation and it will be first-come, first-served seating, so come early!”
  • PACE DVD’s’s are now available in the front office for pickup.
  • Are you interested in a Spring Break trip next year?  How does New York and London sound?  If you are interested in learning about this wonderful travel opportunity, there will be a student meeting on Tuesday June 14th in room B217 at lunch.  Might be a good idea to put a reminder in your phone if you’re interested!
  • “Hey Concert Band Brass & Basses!  See you all today at lunch for a run of the Chamber Ensemble Music.  See you then!”

  • This last weekend Belmont was well represented in the Grade 10 division of the Vancouver Island High School Open Beach Volleyball Championships, played in Parksville. To begin, Devon Woolley and Atessa Flammand picked up the bronze medal in the Tier 2 division. Then in the Tier 1 play-offs it was a complete sweep of the medals by Belmont teams- Bronze to Taylee Pomponio and Sydney Belton, Silver to Hannah May and Gracie May and Gold to the team of Olivia Godek and Savannah Purdy. For Olivia and Savannah it was their third consecutive gold medal performance. Way to represent Girls.
  • We can now also confirm that Manon Mackasey has been selected to represent Canada at the Climbing World Championships next November in China!…

  • HUGE congratulations to the Belmont Track and Field team who competed in the Island Championship Wednesday and Thursday last week. Our junior boys team placed 7th in the relay with Lachlan Sleivert, Bryce Franklin, Ian Ker and Jax Leeson. These boys also did extremely well in their individual events with Jax Leeson placing 5th in the Triple Jump and will now represent Belmont at Provincials. Natalie McFall had an impressive season in the 400m and 200m. Congrats to all members of the team this season.

Sports

Congratulations to the Belmont Golf team as they claimed the City title on Monday at Colwood Golf Course.  The team shot a total of 308 edging SMUS out by 1 stroke.  This is Belmont’s 4th title in the past 9 years.  Players are:

Ethan Ko – 73

Kyle Leiman – 76

Bryce Tickner – 78

Kieran Cardinal – 81

Dylan Green – 84
