Announcements Sept. 23rd, 2016
Check out the Belmont Website Daily Announcements and the Career Centre Information for the many volunteer opportunities available to students.  Volunteer hours can be used for the required grad transitions hours.
  • The Belmont swim team sign up sheet is in the office. We will be swimming at the YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:45pm. Starting September 27th. Select the Swim channel on the Belmont app.
  • PACE Christmas Show  Rehearsals for the PACE Christmas show begin this Sunday at the Isabelle Reader Theatre at Spencer School. New students are welcome. Grade 4-6 from 1-2 p.m.  Grades 7-12 from 2-5 p.m.
  • Recycling for the A and C wing will be done in the afternoons on Monday and Wednesday. Recycling for the B and D wing will be done in the afternoons on Tuesdays and Thursday’s.  Please have your recycling outside your classroom door right after lunch on these days.
  • Grade 11 and 12 students: The Canadian Universities Event (CUE) is being hosted at Royal Bay Secondary on Tuesday, Sept 27th during D block. This is a great opportunity for students to talk to admission recruiters from universities across the country. Students participating in this event will be expected to complete an assignment geared at gathering pertinent information.  Because of the tight timeline for organizing this event students are asked to sign up in the counselling suite as soon as possible. There are only 50 seats available; first come, first served pending teacher permission from D block.
  • Lakeside Café will be offering food choices on Wednesdays starting October 5th at lunch time.  The first menu item is Nachos. Stay tuned for the following Wednesday options.
  • Model UN will meet on Wednesday, September 28th at lunch in Rm B211 to discuss VicMun taking place at the University of Victoria in October – Ms. Amado.
  • Want to get involved in Event Entertainment at Belmont? The next meeting is this Monday at lunch in Mr. Grainger’s room B222. Come check it out and see what it’s all about!
  • Work Experience 12 course.  Students whohave seen Nicholson and who have received paperwork for the Work Experience 12 course credits must return the Orientation Package and the Agreement/Training Plan by Wednesday, September 29, 2016 to ensure enrollment  in the course

  • Volunteers are needed for the ”Light up the Hills” event on Saturday, September 24th from 7:30pm to 10:00pm.  The event is a family-friendly outdoor festival of lights in the Westhills area. The volunteer positions include set-up, arts & craft tables, information services, traffic and crowd control, and take-down. Check out the Belmont Website Daily Announcements and the Career Centre Information for the many volunteer opportunities available to students.  Volunteer hours can be used for the required grad transitions hours.
  • Food Safe Level 1 is being offer on Wednesday June 22nd for $55.00. If you are interested in taking this class please sign up and pay in the office. Space is limited to 19 students.
  • Reminder for all International students and Belmont Ambassadors – Farewell Party – Thursday @ lunch.
