Grade 12 parents & students, welcome to the final year of High School!

As you can imagine, there is a lot going on. This area of our website is your “one stop shopping” for all the information and resources one needs to navigate through this final year. The table below outlines resources placed in chronological order as they typically happen.   Please work through this area together with your child to make sure you hit all the marks and have the most successful year possible:

  • Double check on Grad Eligibility after semester one
March/April
  • Admin review off eligibility for Grad based on report card marks
  • Book tickets for Recognition Ceremony
  • Grad Gowns on display at lunch in the Social Commons for sizing purposes.
  • April 6th – Completed Grad package submitted to the main office this includes:  Grad Gown order, Ceremony Comment form and $50.00 Graduation fee.  Pay online through School Cash Online or in office.  Please make cheques payable to School District #62.  Grad gown form and GRAD Comment form
  • April 27 – Grad Ceremony ticket reservations begin @ 8:30 am through UVIC box office for 11 am ceremony.  Online sales at tickets.uvic.ca or call 250-721-8480.  Tickets are $5 each for a maximum of 5 tickets @ $5.00 each per family.  Grad info here
  • April 23-27 – Valedictorian Nomination Week (20 signatures required)
May/June
  • May 4 – Grad Ceremony ticket reservations begin @ 8:30 am through UVIC box office for 3 pm ceremony.  Online sales at tickets.uvic.ca or call 250-721-8480.  Tickets are $5 each for a maximum of 5 tickets @ $5.00 each per family.  Tickets are $5 each for a maximum of 5 tickets @ $5.00 each per family.
  • May 16, 2018 – “O’Canada” & Original Grad Song audition at Lunch in the Choir room.  A copy of the lyrics MUST be presented at the time of audition.
  • May 15th – Vote for Valedictorian during a special assembly during Block C.
  • May TBD – Closing date for initial UVIC ticket purchase is 4pm.
  • May TBD – Grad Status Confirmation – Gr. 12 students must be in the position to graduate in order to participate in the Grad ceremony.  All fees will be refunded if a student is not in a position to graduate.
  • May 29th – Graduation Ceremony rehearsal at UVIC Auditorium, University Centre – AM Ceremony  9:30 – 10:30 am.  (Buses leave Belmont @ 8:45 am).  PM Ceremony 11:00 – 12:00 pm.  (Buses leave Belmont @ 10:30 am).
  • May TBD (estimate date) – Extra tickets go on sale if available sometime prior to June 10th.
  • Providing new and like-new gowns & tuxedos for a small fee.

  • June 1st – Prom ticket payment due.  1.0 BSS Prom Consent Form April 2018
  • June Date TBA – Prom ticket pick up in the front foyer at lunch time.  Please bring ID and your Dry Grad change of clothes for you and your guest.
  • Grad – June 10, 2018 – Ceremony at UVIC Auditorium University Centre @ 11 am and 3 pm ceremonies.
  • Prom – June 23, 2018 – Crystal Gardens, 813 Douglas Street @ 5:30 pm. Tickets on sale April @ $125.00 per ticket.
  •  Drygrad – June 23, 2018 @ Belmont School 11:30 pm – 3:30 am
July/August
  • Official Transcripts mailed home late July
  • Confirmation of acceptance to Post-Secondary pending marks
  • Scholarship funds can be accessed
