Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians.
We are very excited to share news about upcoming Graduation activities and events! Our graduating students continue to demonstrate focus and determination in working to achieve their goals this year, and we are looking forward to celebrating their accomplishments!
We are happy to announce that this year’s Graduation Commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 15th at the UVic Centre Farquhar Auditorium. There will be a morning and an afternoon ceremony, with up to 5 guest tickets available for each student at a cost of $6 each. Additional tickets may be released once the initial purchase is completed.
The Grad fees for Commencement will be $55, payable on School Cash Online starting today Thursday, February 13th, and ending on March 12th, 2025. Please note that there are separate purchasing options for each of the ceremonies so please ensure that you have selected the correct one upon payment. These fees are used to pay for the facility rental, caps and gowns, and other incidental costs associated with the event.
Prom (dinner and dance) will take place during the evening of Wednesday, June 25 th at the Crystal Garden, located downtown with a graduating class photo taken at the Legislature Building beforehand at 5:00pm. Tickets will go on sale for this in April with more detailed information to come for both students and families.
Our PAC is planning a Dry Grad event on May 24th, 2025, as well. If you are interested in supporting the Dry Grad event or have questions, please contact our Vice Principal, Stephen McHugh (smchugh@sd62.bc.ca).
We look forward to celebrating with our students through each of these activities. If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to support our grads, please reach out.
There will be a bottle drive on Sunday, Feb. 23 from 10-2 at the Belmont bus loop – all proceeds will help to lower Prom ticket costs – please stop by and drop off your refundable items. Thank you to Grads Taylor G and Sabrina T for organizing and to all the Grads who have signed up to help out.
